Ptolemy Elrington

Known as the ‘Hubcap Artist’, Ptolemy creates beautiful objects, usually animals and birds, from waste. From hubcaps to shopping trollies, his imagination and skills know no limit.

Inspired by a trip to India, where he witnessed people in poverty applying their creativity to survive, he returned to Brighton to become a full time artist. Also driven by strong ethics, he has made an art out of repairing, reusing and refashioning what we throw away.

Ptolemy will be creating a unique piece for the event from urban rubbish.

He'll also be displaying a number of similar pieces, including his acclaimed dragonfly made from shopping trollies recovered from waterways.
